Hi team/colleagues,

I would like to know the recommended frequency for taking an FTP test (threshold test) within the Athletica framework.

Specifically:

1. **Frequency:** How often is it best to perform a formal FTP test (e.g., every 6–8 weeks vs. 12+ weeks) without over-testing or interfering with prescribed training blocks?

2. **Scheduling:** What is the best way to manually add or structure a “Test Week” / FTP test into my Athletica calendar so that the algorithm adjusts future training targets and zones properly?

Thanks for your guidance!

On part 1: Athletica uses your power data from the last six weeks, and the Critical Power model. For the latter you want maximal efforts around 3 mins, 5-6 mins, and 12 mins. I would just aim to include a max effort for each of those durations, at least once every six weeks to keep model up to date. Each of those could be the first interval in a VO2, Threshold, and Tempo session resp without any special scheduling.

On part 2: Go into your road map, and select a week, (might be click and hold, it is press and hold on iPad), the option change to test week appears.

I am just a user. I am sure the official response will be along soon enough.
