Eagleman 70.3 Success

I’ve been ramping up my triathlon distance with the goal of conquering the Lake Placid IM in 2027. The Eagleman 70.3 was the next stepping stone on that journey, and was a great time. While the run was absolutely brutal in the 90 degree and 100% humidity heat, the swim and bike were great. There were some jellyfish in the water, but I was only stung a few times and it really wasn’t that bad.

I hadn’t been re-testing and had been a little discouraged to see my power profiles drop for both the run and bike in Athletica, but I ended up hitting my target of sub 6-hours and felt great. I’m excited to start ramping up for next year and will be incorporating test weeks every other month or so to better measure progress.

This was the first race where I actually looked for the photographers so I could get some good photos. So much better than the exhausted looking ones from all my previous events
