As I am often not so happy with the CP as derived by atheltica – due to repeatedly limited PDC data over last 6 weeks – I am used to set it manually myself. This does not seem to be possible anymore?
currently you cannot directly set or update your threshold power within the Athletica platform yourself. Threshold values are updated automatically based on your recent performance data (like ramp tests or maximal efforts) that you log into the system.
If you want to update your threshold power because you believe it’s outdated, the best approach is to:
Complete a new threshold test (such as a 20-minute time trial or ramp test) and upload the workout.
Ensure your max effort intervals or any maximal sustained efforts are recorded and synced—they will be used by Athletica to recalculate your threshold automatically.
Manual entry or adjustment is not available at this time. If you feel your detected threshold is inaccurate due to missed data or errors, you can adjust your future sessions by modifying your target powers or RPE accordingly, or reach out to Athletica support for guidance.
Which, together with the “poor” predictions with limited data – is really unfortunate.
Just to reiterate, I have no problem with the analysis as such, I know that the data is “limited” to say it nicely, but I also know more – i.e., there might be a build phase with intensity work in the gym instead of one the bike … which leads atheletica to assume a too low APR and too high CP… just let me use my “added knowledge” to adjust it:-)
PS: Yes, I just changed the value in the old UI and that obviously works for now, but I fear is not a sustained option;-)
Hey @joku
I’ve learned that Chrome usually works better than Safari. Helpful to clear cache and/or change browser if something that has worked before isn’t working for you.
And when you have ruled out browser glitches then let me know via support.
Did the planned workouts into the future change their zones when you did this? I updated my thresholds, but all the prescribed paces and HRs are still based on old zones.
Not sure embout the new-UI setting, but it used to work appropriately in the old-UI times, I am fairly certain.
NB: I am currently not looking at the prescribed power targets too closely anyway – they are broad and not really relevant for 30/30s nor Z2 workouts. And even for K3 I only look at “tempo” or “SST”. I simply take it from there and do all these workouts in SIM mode when indoor…
It sometimes takes a day for me to see changes, and if the next day’s workout is locked (e.g. you have it set to not make changes within 1 day) that one also won’t change at any point.
To set CP go into sport profiles then training zones. You can update threshold power there, which recalculates the zones. I think threshold and CP are referring to the same thing. I also have the challenge that my power curve is not fully populated with max efforts if i follow the plan. For instance i have not done any 3 or 5 min efforts in my current plan
