Syncing a 3rd party workout with what's prescribed in Athletica

Hi everyone,

New to Athletica and so far so good! Need some advice though.

I’ve been prescribed 2:30:00 Z2 endurance sessions in Build phase but I’m only doing indoor training now so I have no access to undulating terrain. I’m on a Wahoo kickr bike so I want to simulate gradient that way.

Had an idea of creating a workout on TrainerRoad identical to the Athletica prescribed one, and trying to figure out if I can set the changes in terrain, so it’s not just flat spinning for 2.5 hrs. If I do this, how do I “upload” the data and sync it with the Athletica workout? I’m on Garmin so I guess the TR workout when synced to Garmin, will be pushed into Athletica. What should I do from there?

Also, you guys probably have a wealth of experience and any advice to on making bike workouts more engaging (I’m not virtual avatar fan - more a boring chart kind rider, thus TR) instead of having to copy workouts over every time? Or is TR not even needed (can save on the subscription :P)

Thanks a lot!

That’s exactly right! If TrainerRoad goes to Garmin and you have Garmin synced to Athletica, the workout data should go over just fine!

Does TrainerRoad sync with Intervals.ai by chance? If so, use that to get the Athletica workouts directly TrainerRoad w/o manual building every time!

For subscription options, Athletica has an integration with Velocity (https://app.vqvelocity.com) and workouts can go directly to and from. It’s only a $5 add-on, and while it’s not a virtual world or map, there are some really cool data charts and target gauges that make it interesting. Then I also throw some TV or podcasts on in the background.

(Eventually, rumor has it that a Zwift integration MAY be coming but don’t count on that yet, Velocity is a great option for now. Plus you can join there for our live group sessions!)
