Best watches for syncing/recording xc ski workouts?

Does anyone have recommendations for watches that allow for syncing of xc ski & rollerski workouts?

I have a very old, first-gen Garmin Venu right now. I’m able to sync run & bike workouts with this watch such that the watch can guide me through the correct intervals & HR ranges (which is great). However, I noticed that I can’t sync xc ski or rollerski workouts in the same manner.

Does anyone’s watch allow them to sync xc ski/rollerski workouts? Do any non-Garmin watches (e.g. Polar) allow for this?

Thanks!

Polar and Suunto have better set up for XCS and Roller ski than Garmin. Unfortunately we do not (yet) directly connect with them.

Thanks, Marjaana! If a user were to have a Polar watch (for example), what would be the best workaround(s)?

So, although there’s not yet a way to connect directly, is there a way to connect indirectly? So, maybe there’s some way to sync workouts to a Polar watch through some kind of 3rd-party app such as Strava (instead of directly with Polar)?

Alternatively, I assume a user would be able to manually copy training session structures into their watch of choice? So, for clarity, I think this would involve (1) checking what intervals & HR zones Athletica is prescribing for a given session, (2) manually setting up these intervals/zones as a new training session on a Polar watch, (3) after the session is over, syncing the results with Athletica via Strava (or some 3rd-party app). Is that possible?

I have a Garmin Fenix watch and was able to record cross country ski efforts with no issues all winter.

Good info, @ashleyidesign! So, to be clear, you were able to sync an xc ski workout from the app to your Garmin Fenix. Then, the watch would guide you through the intended intervals?

Ah I see, no XC ski isn’t a workout type that’s available, I only used it for tracking. You’d have to do the cardio workout type.
