With 20 weeks to go until the 2026 Boston Marathon, is anyone using Athletica for their training plan? Or has anyone used it for previous editions? What experiences have you had, and do you have any advice?
Hi Juan - Congrats on qualifying! I used Athletica to train for the 2025 Boston Marathon and I thought it did a great job of getting me ready for the big day! I chose a mid-volume marathon plan and started training in January (although I had a good base from the previous year). I pretty much followed the plan religiously, however I did add in my own swim and bike sessions as I had a few triathlons scheduled for after the marathon and wanted to keep those up. I would recommend doing the ‘strength and conditioning’ plyo sessions as well as practice uphill and downhill running as it is a very hilly course! There are quite a few ‘youtube’ videos that go over the course so you can get an idea on pacing strategy. Boston is a really cool city, and I really enjoyed the ‘race week’ experience. Feel free to reach if you have any more specific questions about the race or training for it! Happy training!
