Strength endurance run: alternatives

My running training programme regularly includes strength endurance runs (overall length approx. 45 minutes including warming-up/cooldown).

Unfortunately, in my part of the Netherlands an elevation of a few meters every now and then counts as hilly, which appears to defeat the purpose of this workout.

I am trying to think of a structural replacement for these workouts, which fits the overall spirit of Athletica’s training programme. I am inclined to put in 200 meter intervals just for the fun of it, but I would say these have a different purpose.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Hey @Trenchdog
I’ve been in the same “flat land” trap and I’ve come to the conclusion that to get the same SE effect - I just need to jump on the treadmill. Uphill running definitely has a different neuromuscular stimulus than any flat land intervals.
