I had Athletica.ai build me a plan based on my 3 goal races (10k in March, 100k bike race in early May, 10k in mid-May). It has me doing only cycling outside of two blocks: ~3 weeks before my March 10k and ~2 weeks before my May 10k, it switches me to running 100% until race day. Surely that isn’t optimal? I was not able to select “bike + run” as my main sport as my “A” goal is not a duathlon.

If you enjoy training mainly by running and biking, I would definitely choose duathlon plan even if you don’t have duathlon as a race goal.
When you choose runs and bikes as your races, the program will then switch to run or bike specific taper weeks. This can be problematic especially for running if your overall weekly volume suddenly jumps beyond what you are used to.
Choosing duathlon and you’re training biking and running consistently- better for your training progression, fitness, body&mind, in my opinion.
You could consider choosing standard duathlon plan.

I think Athletica.ai should let me train both consistently even though my “A” race is a bike race. I hope you update it in the future.
100% agree. I would definitely be using athletics as my primary training platform if this worked better.
