Strength Focus!

Hello,

I have a question. What if I want, for some period, focus on strength instead of TRI ? Let’s say I want, as primary target, schedule 5 strenght session per week of about an hour each. At the same time I want to maintain my endurance base eg by schedueling 2x/week for each tri sport.

EG:

|Mon| Upper Body Strength / 1K Swim (Technique + Pull)|
|Tue| Lower Body Strength / 45–60 min Easy Bike
|Wed| Core & Mobility / 5–8K Run (Tempo Intervals or Easy
|Thu Full Body Power / Rest or Short Swim|
|Fri| Upper + Core Strength / Brick: 30–45 min Bike and 15–20 min Run
|Sat| Long Bike (60–90K) OR Long Run (12–15K) (alternate weekly) / Optional Recovery Swim|
|Sun | Rest or Light Mobility

How can I manage that in athletica (if possible at all) ? I tried multiple seetings (goals/volume/days spec) without any sucess.

thanks

I would chose sprint triathlon plan, move things around as you outline and then create your own strength training plan. You will need to save to your library and pull from there every week.

Thanks @Marjaana ,

It seems quite a solution. The drawback is just that sometimes I get some swim session planned with a duration that’s less than 20 min (do i need to increase the volume ?). Basically i will spend much more time by driving and showering !

I can always manually change the duration of that session but what then ? will it became just a sort of totally self managed plan or AI will automatically start adding duration with time (with respect to the selected volume setting) ?

Understood. When I have short sessions, I create more time spent in pool by doing two sessions. So if you have two or three swims per week, then I just drag and drop one more to the day. Who wants the hassle of going to pool only for 20mins, right?! Eventually, as the system sees that you are doing more sessions, it will give you more time - as per progressive overload principle.
