Just a quick update to say there’s still no change / syncing to either side (Intervals or Athletica) after about two hours. I have noticed that the “updating” animation on the top right of the Athletica screen has been spinning ever since I implemented the connection.
An update: Eight hours and my Athletica plan is still “updating”, with no noticeable changes on either platform. BTW, my workouts are all non-cycling.
Mike
It’s mostly working for me.
I set up the connection a few hours ago, and some of my future workouts are syncing to intervals - tomorrow, Sunday and Monday synced, but for some reason not Saturday (a run and a swim).
I already had an intervals account that synced with Garmin…I’m not sure what else would have changed.
Update: ~16 hrs after my connection my Athletica Training Plan is still updating and I haven’t seen any noticeable changes on the Athletica side; but, I have seen some in my intervals.icu training calendar:
-
Duplicates of Athletica written workouts have populated for the remainder of this week and all of next week (photos attached). These are in addition to those I manually added in intervals as expected and the shared calendar entries from Athletica.
-
Check of Proper Writing of a Specific Workout. It appears Athletica is not correctly writing workouts to intervals.icu when those workouts contain multiple sets separated by an additional rest interval. I am attaching photos a 30/15s VO2 workout I have scheduled for next Tuesday….one that I manually entered into intervals.icu, the other as written into intervals.icu by Athletica.
The graphic created by intervals.icu in their workout builder illustrates the problem…

Noticed a couple of issues with synced workouts:
Pool size: My swim workouts coming up the next four days synced with intervals, but although my pool size is specified in yards in Athletica, the intervals swim workouts are specified in meters.
Length of endurance rides / runs: my endurance / steady state bike on Saturday, run on Sunday and bike on Monday are all exactly one hour shorter on intervals than Athletica.
I set up my integration last night, and disabled Strava to prevent duplicates but it looks like my plan is still being adjusted
Thank you everyone for posting your feedback. I have summarized and passed this on.

Additional observation on the workouts being sent to my intervals calendar….
Attached is a 2h, 20’ Steady workout schedule for me tomorrow by Athletica, how it was posted to my intervals calendar (twice) as a 20 minute workout, and the error in the Athletica-generated workout script I identified. I have also provided a copy of the Athletica workout that I previously manually entered into intervals as a comparison. FYI: I have been using a % of my intervals.icu entered FTP to equate to my Athletica Power targets as a workaround to make sure they match in the interval.icu workout.
After about 20h my sync is still running. I see the next two weeks of workouts in Intervals, but with the same problems as @Firestop perfectly described.
I don’t see any new HRV data in Intervals.
If the training plan is adjusted, double entries are created for Intervals: the original workout remains and there is also the newly planned session.
@Prof ……follow-up….the result of Athletica’s most recent changes…the missing time for the Steady interval has been replaced by 40 min….should be 124 min.
My plan is still getting tweaked. Would re-enabling Strava sync in the meantime make things worse?
Some bugs I have been noticing with the Intervals.icu
- Deleting duplicate stuff on athletica wont remove from intervals
- Seems the way athletica has the duration is different than how intervals expects it. Ie i had. 2:30 hour bike ride yesterday and on intervals only had 30 minutes. Today I had a 1:10 run and intervals only has 10 minutes
Other issues since last major update
- Seems i been getting duplicate work outs on the same day, ill keep an eye to see if it continues this week coming up
I connected intervals this afternoon. Reading the other comments I only allowed it to write future workouts. About 6 hrs later they are in the plan. Some trainings longer then 1 hour are not correct timing wise and pointed out above. So far I see no other issues.
Update: My Training Plan completed its continuous updated at approximately the 48-hour mark.
This evening, the A.I. Coach provided a message I’ve not received before referring to my Recovery Profile. My intervals.icu does contain my HRV & RHR data back to mid-December 2024 that Athletica can access…No Recovery Profile Chart is visible yet.
The 30/30 and 30/15 HIIT workouts with additional recovery intervals between the HIIT sets are still writing incorrectly in intervals.icu as previously noted
Love having it synced, but definitely some bugs with getting workouts over. I hopped on Zwift for my 2.5 hour over/unders only to find a 4-hour workout LOL. Image for easier comparison.
LEFT: how Intervals read and interpreted the over/unders into a 4 hour workout
RIGHT: what I was supposed to do (and manually uploaded to Zwift)
FWIW I haven’t noticed any other issues yet. Since I already had the two accounts connected for tracking purposes, the only need was to enable the writing of workouts. Thanks for making the initial process smooth and good luck with the workout corrections.
Thanks @kimberg… added to dev ticket for consideration.
The AI coach is correct. A normal range for your HRV requires 60 days of data.
