Not sure if this is a bug or Normal. My “Power Profile” chart and my “Athlete Zones” show two different Critical Power” values.
Two questions:
- Why?
- Given I have two Cups, which one should I use for race planning?
Thanks in advance……

Dear @Firestop thank you for your message.
In the “Power Profile Chart” section, you are seeing the CP computed with the data in the selected time range, e.g. “Last 6 weeks”, “Last 3 months”, etc.
What you see in the tab it’s instead the CP that Athletica uses as default for the calculation of the zones: past 6 months.
Now, I fully understand this makes things not easy-to-follow, and I totally get that you might want to select a custom time range, and having your CP taken from that range as well.
We are in the process to address all these issues. Again, thank you so much for flagging. We will do our best to improve on this point.
Thanks Andrea. I’m good with the process…just trying to understand it better so I use it effectively.
I’ve historically/pre-athlectica used my 42-day numbers to set both my training and event Power/Pace targets. Three months into Athletica after a prolonged cycle of rehab/reinjury, I’m very happy with my progress made following the prescribed plan (back to within 1-sec of my best 2k Split😎), so I’m fine with the process.
I just thought 241W (01:53) was a little aggressive for me at this point for longer events. I just completed the 6k ALL OUT interval of my retest at an average 237W | 01:54, but I wasn’t going to hold that for too much longer. The 218W (01:57) CP estimate from my chart seemed more realistic for an upper-end target at this moment if I was shooting to complete a +/-1-hour event.
Again, thanks for the insight into how Athletica works…it will make me a better user!
