Wahoo trainer integration - Always lowest power from zone

Hi,

Like most of us (who have cycling in their trainingplan) I have a weekly 30/30 session.

I noticed that when executing this workout via the Wahoo app on a kickr core 2, the target for the 30s on is always the bottom of the Athletica zone. So the prescribed workout says Z6; 324W-388W, I end up doing 324W during the interval, and with Wahoo controlling the trainer, I can’t go harder and at this power, the workout feels too easy.

Since in Athletica we can only select an entire zone as a target, is there a easy workaround or do I have the remake the training in a different app to select for example the middle of the Athletica power zone?

ps: I prefere to control the trainer via the wahoo app, as this gives a near perfect resistance, where if I control the trainer with a head unit (garmin) I get a longer delay and greater resistance fluctuations

Thanks in advance for any advice here

Hey,
sounds like you are using ERG mode, which I recommend turning off for 30/30s. You want to do these as “open and free” without any trainer controlling your effort. That way you’ll progress nicely - sometimes breaking the ceiling, sometimes listening to your daily form, and staying around your lower target.

Best, MJ
