Hey guys, so I ran into a scenario today, where at the last minute I decided to race this weekend, and so moved my more intense training sessions to race day instead, and moved others around to ensure I had a rest day before race day on Sunday.
The issue is, as I am a 7-day a week trainer, the AI tries to move sessions back into that rest day (which makes sense in a normal training week), so I have to lock all the sessions to ensure they are not moved.
This means, though, that now they won’t adapt as they are locked.
What would be awesome is the addition of the padlock to the rest day tile as well, to tell the AI, for this week, this has to be a rest day, so don’t move anything there.
I can imagine how this would help when other life events come up that mean you simply cannot train on a certain day for that week only.
Edge case perhaps, but thought it was worth dropping it here.
Hi @KevKoe ,
I don’t believe that the AI should do that, moving a session into a rest day once you’ve already removed it. This could be a bug. Please do me a favour and create your rest day, take a screen shot of that, and if a session returns, screenshot that so I can report it.
Thank you.
I just did the same as I wanted to do for this week and it moved a session into the rest day. Maybe I am doing something wrong but I have attached two screenshots. One showing the rest day that I created by moving out sessions into other days and the next screenshot shows Athletica 10 minutes later having put a session into that day.
Let me know if I am doing something wrong on my end.
I left it on my athletica for now if you want to look into it but will need to move and change it in the near future to align with my availability blocks.
Another way to think about it would be a “lock week” feature. Normally my schedule is limited to MWF runs and T, TH, Sat Bikes. This week I have to swap them and I did that manually (rather than rebuilding my parameters.) However, the system continues to add extra workouts now, thinking "I am supposed to put a run on Mondays (despite there already being a2 hour bike there now).
If there was a “lock week” feature, that would be helpful. Thanks!
Keeping the load target for the week unchanged by moving workouts around to add a rest day day (doubling up workouts) or move a rest day seems to work ok. The AI doesn’t seem to move things back.
Changing the load in any way seems to make the AI try to get back to the target load. Removing a workout without adding one later in the week or increasing load somewhere else seems to always trigger the AI to bring back a workout similar to the one I removed. Adding a workout (typically a strength workout for me) that increases the load will have the AI do what it can to reduce load elsewhere.
If I’m planning a rest day where the AI has a workout, I just wait until the day after and delete it. If I miss a workout unintentionally I leave it in as missed. If I want to add strength workouts I’ll typically lock the workout the day after and cross my fingers that adjustments later in the week aren’t too drastic.
