So I had FTP set at 235 in velocity and Athletica CP is 231. If I set the FTP to 240 in the profile it brings the 1st two zones closer to matching but it goes of track after that.

Athletica 3a & 3b 184w to 229w are close to Vel Z3 182w to 209w.
There after its a good bit out
Athletica Z4 229w to 264w to Vel Z4 211w to 226w.
Athletica Z5 264w to 297w to Vel Z5 228w to 252w

How can I get the velocity zones to match?

Another face palm moment in the connection screens I had selected erg mods but it was switched off on the main screen. Switched on it works better.

Still thou the profile power levels are off how do I fix that?

Ok so in help and a search of ‘change power zones’ doesn’t return anything related to the problem.

The chat bots is very limited in terms of selection options to get help for this issue and didn’t lead anywhere.

the path in this photo where is the setting option in the the windows app? Is this option for coaches only?

To find the powerzones, I go to account options → My Profile → Power zones. Here, there is no drop-down menu or option to change anything manually.

@Marjaana, do you have a coach’s view that’s different from mine? at the bottom of the image, it states they are pre-established.

If I’m using erg mode for all workouts does this even matter?

Hey @Pablo_ie

Can you send me your name so I can ask Velocity guys look into this?

If you use ERG mode for all workouts, your trainer will “force” you stay within those power targets. As you get fitter, you definitely want to be able to push more power and not be limited by ERG.

Yeah and that’s what I like about it. If the data in the system is accurate the prescribed workout should be what you need for that session no more or less. If on any given day you want more or less effort in the application you adjust session % on the fly.

And as we get fitter surely athletica will increase the prescribed targets to keep fitness levels increasing? Isn’t that the whole pitch for athletic. It would be good to have this confirmed because in 6 months of detraining my session targets didn’t move. I had a long running post open about this.

Hey Pablo,

if it is your preference to use the ERG mode on all workouts, there’s nothing that stops you doing it of course. I just personally like to let my brain dictate what I have in the tank that day. ERG mode can surely keep you honest in your effort, but I’m more of a free bird and don’t like the constraint especially when cranking out high power

As you get fitter, we do have that automatic detection you mention. You’ll see your CP increase and zones change. Note here though, that you can see your 6month CP & intensity zones under Athlete Zones which are based on your last 6 months performances. Under your Power Profile, you can see last 6 weeks, 3 months, this year etc, which are more sensitive to changes in the short term. When you had your detraining period, your threshold didn’t change as quickly as you had good training block prior that still was detecting good performances within that 6month range.

As you gain fitness, you will see your CP change, and be notified if you have set it so in your settings.

Note that in Velocity Athletica workouts, it is pulling your zones from Athletica, but these are still under work, so may not be 100% correct. Please bear with us as we work through the integration - note that we are still under trial.

Hope this helps understand it better.

That’s the thing during the de-training. It wasn’t that it didn’t change quickly some mertics didn’t change at all. For example, the Vo2 max block targets didn’t change until after 6 months and were, in fact, higher than when I peaked for the event. To be truly AI, Athletica should be able to detect reduced load, less frequency, etc. to be effective. Any way that’s for a different thread. Thank you very much for your help.

Quick question - what to do if you already have an account on velocity? Do I need to sign up with a new account?

No you just link up your Velocity with Athletica as count connection in your settings.
If any trouble, Velocity support desk is very helpful, kits hit that Question mark button bottom right and write them a note if you don’t find answer to your question in their help articles.

Thank you,
MJ
