Hey all,
we have many new athletes, and I’ve noted many questions about power profiles and tests. Let me invite you all to join our weekly Coaches indoor cycling sessions on Velocity platform. You have a free trial for Velocity with Athletica. There are three types of workouts you can do: 1. LIVE Coached sessions 2. Replay of any recorded live session 3. OnDemand sessions from your Athletica training calendar. check “this week on Athletica”
Benefits of LIVE sessions are: social, being coached how to do Athletica workouts as intended, get live coaching from @Prof and myself, suffer through a hard workout together. A lot of banter and get to know other Athletica athletes around the world. you get direct access to ask training questions, and we always share some Golden nuggets with Prof. Friendly competition with @cmaloney this morning pushed me further than I thought was possible today. These sessions are the highlight of my training week, sharing pain faces with the team is what keeps me showing up every week. We can cater to all fitness levels, and encourage everyone to gauge when is a good time to call it a day, or keep going. Did I mention we are a bunch of super friendly and supportive folks who want to see you succeed
And last, but certainly not least, Workout Reserve is LIVE and visible for you every second, telling you how hard you’re pushing it relative to your 6-week history. It’s truly a game changer, allowing for efficient workouts.
Also, you can use these sessions to “keep your power profile” updated but cranking out some max efforts The cool thing about Velocity is also that as a coach, I see when you have reached a new PR and can give you shoutouts in real time. Who doesn’t like a pat on the back ?!
Here’s photo dump on how it looks like inside Velocity, and results screen post-workout.
PS. having done these sessions religiously weekly for over a year, has helped me so many ways from downhill skiing double black diamonds with Prof (I live in Texas so not much skiing for me), knock down American Birkiebeiner, 54K Classic ski race with 1300m elevation (again, no hilly ski practice for me in Texas), in addition to my “normal” tri training.
