Bugs, bugs, bugs everywhere!

Sorry, but I need to vent a bit—this week Athletica has been all over the place.

On Wednesday, my planned workout didn’t sync to my Wahoo, so I ended up riding without any structured instructions. I figured it was just a one-off issue and moved on. But today, the same thing happened again with my scheduled 30/30 intervals. I tried everything: manually pushing the workout, disconnecting and reconnecting my Wahoo account—no luck.

And of course, this all happens after you’re already outside and ready to start your ride. That’s not just frustrating—it completely disrupts the session.

To make matters worse, the ride (done without the structured workout on the device) didn’t sync back to Athletica. And that’s been the case with several other sessions this week as well.

To sum up the current issues:
• Workouts not syncing from Athletica to Wahoo
• Completed workouts not syncing back from Strava to Athletica
• Running pace consistently wrong in Athletica (while correct in all other apps)
• Bike power zone limits displayed inconsistently across the platform

I’ve been willing to overlook some growing pains while using Athletica because I believe in its potential—but this week has been rough. When even the core functions like syncing workouts break down, it starts to feel more like an unfinished product than a training platform ready for daily use. And frankly, I don’t think it’s marketed that way.

Really hoping these issues get sorted out soon.

Yes - yesterday’s bike activity has not been synced from garmin since more than 12 hours. Seems to be a big backlog of sync jobs. That does not help for structured training.

No Garmin sync for me either: When I manually import the fit file, I get the message “session missed”, but RPE and Feeling are transferred. The same happens with the fit file from Strava …

I have now created the template again using unpair and am waiting for the automatic sync.
However, it seems that some things that used to work perfectly no longer work technically.

Edit: As soon as I wrote this, the run was automatically imported/synchronized.
But adding a fit file did not work for me.

Hi all,
Apologies but as you can tell, the backlog of jobs to process is large following the outage. They are slowly coming back so thank you for your patience.

@Prof But the incorrect handling of fit files has nothing to do with the backlog of jobs?

I just signed up and have a question regarding the intervals.icu connection. Does it only push scheduled workouts to intervals.icu or does it pull completed activities too? I connected Garmin and Intervals and it looks like it is only pulling Garmin activities. I am missing most of my bike rides because they are recorded through Zwift/Training Peaks Virtual. I tried manually uploading my 2025 bike fit files and haven’t seen them yet. Just wondering if it is a backlog issue or connection issue.

Echoing what others have said, but my activities continue to be very delayed in syncing or not syncing at all. A ride I finished just after four p.m. yesterday has not synced as of this posting, ~18 hrs. later.

Same situation here: I have one activity from , and additional two this morning (it is almost 8 pm, 6 hours ago from the last completed one) that are not been sync.

Strava still not syncing with Athletica from what I’m seeing. Workouts have been all over the place this week (run off the bike without a bike session on Tuesday, swim HiiT session today in addition to long bike and run…). Not a finished product indeed.

Just want to chime in with my own frustration. I’m a new user—just 3-4 weeks past my 2 week free trial—and am extremely frustrated with the platform this week, a week that should have been a heavy hitter for me. Unfortunately the constant bugs have me really regretting my year long commitment decision. No syncs, dropped workouts, a glitch here and bug there, and keep having to upload manual workouts but half the time those won’t properly populate. Certainly not what I signed up for and hoping it gets fixed soon so I don’t have to treat this as another “sunk cost” loss.

Edit: Just finished a 1.5 hour Z2 run as prescribed for today (though this would have likely been my plan regardless of platform used) and it’s already listed on my training plan as “missed workout”. Bottom line: I feel like I was taken with this app. I think most clients for a program like Athletica thrive on transparency, granularity, and predicability, none of which is being provided at this time. I also think I might have been mislead as to the actual beta-ness this was and the level of test subject me and my data actually were. Very disappointing.

I used Athletica for 6 months, took a break (using another training platform) for a few weeks, and I’ve been back with Athletics for a few months now. I only cycle, and do all of my intense workouts on an indoor trainer.
I’m not experiencing any significant bugs, but I don’t automatically sync planned workouts to other platforms or automatically upload completed workouts as I prefer to think about how the workout went and reschedule activities during the week as necessitated by ‘normal life’ activities. If the system flings an unreasonable workout at me (sometimes too long and/or with too high a load), I edit it. The plan recalculations are working well for me just now.
Some of the detailed comments from the AI Coach can be quite illuminating - and either I’ve become better at annotation the completed workouts, or the bots have improved!
Designing workouts could be made a lot slicker. This is important to me because the main weekly workouts are pretty much the same each week, and I like a bit of variety to stave off boredom.

Yeah, it’s frustrating at the moment. The “calculation progress bar” on top (or however that bar is called) is currently at over 1350% for me, and counting up.
Upload of activieties has taken long this past week, and the workouts from yesterday are still missing (valid imports on Garmin Connect and intervals.icu). I also can’t manually upload them at the moment - the upload window won’t close for a long time so I manually kill the app.
Luckily, I’m entering the taper week for my next race, so I don’t have to rely too much on adaptations workout-wise. But the purpose of an adaptive training plan is clearly not achievable, if workouts are not synched in due time.

I was pretty happy with the app in the last months. Of course there are bugs, but also constant development. And the workouts get repetitive, but that is ok as long as the progress is there.
But - the admin part of the app (like synching workouts) is a baseline feature and must work, or frustration takes over.

Hello,
Recently, I’ve noticed that various errors keep appearing in Athletica, which I find quite inadequate for a paid application. It feels like there is no testing environment and all changes are pushed straight to production, so paying users end up acting as testers. Given the price of the service, I don’t think this is fair.

Just an add-on: if the app/backend/whatever is experiencing issues - which can happen but should be solved rapidly - I think a message appearing on the main screen highlighting the current issues and expected downtime would be a good feature, ensuring open communication and expecation management.

Hello,

Still having some problems here:

Same here:
I have completed a bike workout exactly on the trainer, but it is marked as “missed” both after automatic import and after fit file upload.

Especially funny, the AI trainer says:
"Since today is a rest day, make sure to prioritize your recovery. "

But it was never a day of rest!

Maybe it is possible to return to the state before the Hyrox plans, at a time when the basics worked reliably?

i’m having the identical issues. all fell apart a few days ago and hasnt recovered since.
Manuelly entering the workout key data works at least. that does provide the very basics for the ai to calculate the days not as rest.

@normie Thanks for the tip: I have now also added all the data manually. Now at least “missed” has disappeared and the training is marked green.

Edit: And now the original data are there and my input corrected. Strange.

Hi @Matthias @Markus @swissalpine @RedJohn16 @msaraceno @Francois @mjmobes @Andy @Lurk @thekappe @normie and others…
Thanks for voicing and sorry for the challenges. Its been a heck of a weekend for us trying to get the system going again after our database provider failed us, triggering a cascade of events that you experienced. We’ll be doing all we can to prevent this in the future. Everything should be back and running again but if not, don’t hesitate to let us know either here or via helpdesk.
