Bugs, bugs, bugs everywhere!

Thanks for your efforts. I’m really hoping the system runs more smoothly for my upcoming training week.

That said, I understand the last two issues I mentioned—incorrect run pace data and inconsistent bike power zone limits—are unrelated to the recent database error, so I assume those will still remain unresolved for now.

@Prof - thanks for information. Working in IT bussines myself and I know what it means to handle job proccessing restarts after outages. Asking ChatGpt for Stackhero as a provider gives interesting results regarding limitations in service support and scalability. System response time (in Europa) is really bad starting at around 6 p.m. (GMT). Seems this provider is under heavy load. Btw: Workouts from friday and sunday have not been synced yet.

Hi there, thank for the update! To be honest I´m really frustrated as the usability is getting worse every day. Since two hours I am not even able to login… Old an multiple workouts on my wahoo. Intervals.icu not really syncing and also having problem with a few workouts/training sessions not being synced correctly or complete.
It is really frustrating as I started my 2 week trial last week. I now had the test week with all those software problems. So I was not able to test any of the ai features at all. I am not able to trust the app to update and change my workouts for this week as older workouts keep coming in and so on. I am also not really able to analyze anything at all and before actually being able to look at a training session its a new day and next training is on the plan which I really do not know if it is correct or makes sense after the last workouts…

I could see a lot of potential of this app/service but this is more than a rough start. I would like to love the app but I am not able to :frowning:

@Prof Unfortunately, the problems do not seem to have been solved, again the same as yesterday:

In addition to the faulty import, the website does not load or only loads after a delay of several minutes … Synchronizing the training from Athletica to Garmin took more than an hour this afternoon (Germany).

I also had a similar problem - this goes on top of many issues that i have experienced with Athletica as i recently mentioned in a recent post: (1) very short exercises prescribed (15 min or 20 min) (2) no respect of my weekly limits - despite now i gave a huge flexibility well beyond what i can accommodate “just to get the AI to work”. Then my 1 hour run on saturday got recorded as a 0 minute run and not complying with prescribed load. This comes after the issue that for various weeks training zones for running and swimming were incorrect. I have used Athletica for 5 months i had big hopes but despite the one year subscription i will stop using it as i have 4 weeks to go my 70.3 Ironman and then a marathon in December - i will go back to use a simple static plan with training peak and keep an eye on my recovery indicators - mainly HRV and resting HR. My main concern is that when i see a bug in a basic function then I take this as a sign that more important/key issues are also not working - in other words if the AI is not able to take note of my weekly constraints (which are clearly established) or gives me silly 15 min training sets, can it really interpret my data and provide me with the right training? It is a black box and I am very skeptical at this point. Sorry to be so negative

Just a quick counterpoint to offer. I have been using athletica for 9 months and this last week is certainly an outlier when it comes to performance. I know it is frustrating and hope they get things sorted out soon and hope those who are on their free trial or just started paying get some sort of extension. My big complaint through these past few days is lack of communication. A post on the website, an email update, anything would be helpful instead of having to hover in the forum trying to figure out if the issues were just me or a global issue.

Came here to post pretty much this - been happily using the platform for 10-11 months or so, to great results, and this is the worst week by FAR the whole time. Yes there have been bugs (smaller than this week) but the transparency was always great and the interruptions minimal.

I’m guessing the team is simply buried trying to recover and fix after the outage and are figuring out where to revert the platform to be stable. Understandable, but the long silences unfortunately add fuel to the fire when users are already frustrated. Hang tight, they’ve always come through so far.

If I had known, I wouldn’t have updated my plan today :grimacing:

Hi - since the 1st June, is anyone else having an issue with the Performance Charts for all activities where all previous activities prior to 31st May are not being included in the Performance Charts and therefore Athletica is calculating all performance metrics (e.g. FTP, lactate threshold, critical speed etc) based only on activities completed and uploaded since June 1st? As I have been sick the first week of June, I have only completed limited activities and now Athletica is wanting to change all my metrics based only on these limited sessions. The knock on effect of this is that all my suggested training zones are incorrect. I believe this is a bug in the system and I have been waiting for serveral weeks for feedback from the team but nothing as yet.

Hey everyone following this thread :thread:

Our apologies for the lack of communications about the outage last week. It happened to coincide with my vacation as well. I’m sorry for the lack of communication. I’m just coming back to remote office today and been met with many messages.
Please know, the team is working very hard on resolving all the issues. So sorry for this.

Today Swim.upload ok

Yesterday bike and Run NOT from STRAVA

I know the team can’t do anything about it and that you’re doing your best to put things right. Nevertheless, it’s terribly frustrating not to be able to count on the program 10 days before an Ironman!
The AI only offers me a single week’s tapering with a totally stupid schedule. For example, the AI gives me my “final bike” on June 15, whereas the race is on the 21st…

In crisis communication, it’s essential to be transparent and to inform your customers about the nature of the problem and what’s being done to remedy it, while trying to estimate how long it will take before things get back to normal. Communicating on the forum is far too inadequate and disrespectful of those who don’t read it. It’s just as easy to send an information e-mail as a promotional e-mail from a business partner…

These image scratches take time to heal…

At the moment the systems seem to be up and running (although I received a notification today (!) that the system was down …): Thanks for that.

But another thing what happens today seems to be a bug: A tripling of load and time as an adjustment from yesterday to today is already very extreme … Especially since the units were fulfilled relatively accurately before.

The next day was also massively increased (+60%).

I had never experienced anything like this in the previous four or five weeks, when there were only moderate adjustments at best. But I’m losing confidence in the AI adjustments and the planning beforehand when such jumps happen.

Have you changed your thresholds ? Take a look at them.

No, not that I know of …
I’ve now had the plan recalculated and lo and behold, the AI significantly reduces the values on these days again.

Hi there, signed up for the trial but have quickly found that Power Targets aren’t working on my Wahoo .. just says N/A in the field. It worked fine yesterday on 30/30’s but on Aerobic Development today … not working, plus it’s listing an IF of 0.49 ?

Is this a bug ? I have selected workout to be prescribed by Power.

Shame seems a good platform but not usable at the moment.

Hi @Danner ,

That is not a bug and is working as you have configured it.

Here are your current configurations where you have smart-coach selected:

Smart coach prescribes high intensity sessions like your 30/30s and others using power, but prescribes lower intensity aerobic and recovery sessions using heart rate. Here is the science describing how why that is best practice to help fast track your development.

Of course you have the option to choose power only if that is still your preference.

Hi Prof thanks for getting back to me. I’ll have another go, i tried selecting by power several times but after syncing was just saying N/A, will try by heart rate.

Thanks - just found that setting under connections very helpful thankyou. Manually syncing each seems to default to what this setting is, not what you’ve just selected on the sync ? Anyway thank you.

Hi Team - I completed a prescribed Bike MAF test this morning which included W/U (erg mode), 30 min free ride keeping HR at lower than 180-age, 5 minutes easy (erg mode) and then another 10 minutes free ride again keeping HR lower than 180-age and holding the average power of the first 30 mins, then a 15min C/D (erg mode).
I was very focussed on keeping HR below the MAF threshold easing back on power if HR went above. I felt I completed the workout as prescribed but of course Coach says I spent far too much time in Zone 3 than prescribed. When viewing the Session Chart (below) it was accurate with a peak HR of 133 and power of 268w. However then switching to Time in Zones, they don’t at all reflect the ride or the data in the Session Chart. It is as if it is from another ride/session/person showing that I spent 34 minutes in Zone 4 HR (i never went above 133bpm) and19 minutes in power zone 7 (347w-416w)… I wish!!! How can Athletica misinterpret the same data so incorrectly and which data is it using when analyising the program - the correct or the incorrect data?
