For the workout wizard, can we consider adding a “modality” category? Right now we have duration, fatigue, diversity, and injury…but the only tab that includes different sports is injury. It would be super helpful to have the ability to choose a different sport in the wizard
Example use cases:
Perhaps I’m traveling, don’t have access to a pool but have a scheduled swim. Hotel does have a spin bike and treadmill though, so I click on Workout Wizard and go to Modality (or your name of choice) and choose a cycle or run that the AI recommends having a similar load or benefit.
Perhaps my bike is in for repairs but I can still make it to the pool or out for a run.
Perhaps I’m trying to improve my running but don’t want to regenerate my whole plan with a higher run percentage, and just want to replace one bike session this week with a run.
Obviously there’s risk for abuse, e.g. someone that prefers running might overdo replacing sessions with runs, or that hates running to overdo replacing run sessions, but that’s on them as the Wizard is an active choice!
Maybe the AI coach can eventually observe “you’ve replaced many of your runs this week with cycling, this isn’t good for your overall triathlon goals”.
This is a great idea. I am currently sitting wondering what to do as all our services are closed today, so wont get my swim done that I moved from yesterday! I guess I can do some land based training, but I am never really quite sure what to do and what load to apply to replace my swimming. @Prof would this be something you guys could do?
I love this! I am currently on a triathlon plan, but my first big race of the season is a trail marathon. Could I use a running plan but change the modality of the bike cross training sessions to swimming to make sure I continue to get some swimming in by using the Workout Wizard?
Yes you could !! Or you could add some swim sessions from your triathlon plan to your library and then add those swims sessions in your calendar where it fits your schedule.
It is my understanding that those bike sessions in run plans are either recovery or aerobic development, and for your triathlon you may want to do some more specific work like speed/threshold etc.
Hi! I would love the Workout Wizard to increase in flexibility. I am a runner (not triathlete) but have 2 other main pursuits I do during the week - swing dancing and inline skating. However, these are not structred workouts, and can sometimes be at an intensity that can sufficiently increase neuromuscular load to make the next day’s run a bit risky. Because my race is still almost 6 months away, I am very much in base-building phase and would like to be able to replace a run with a walk or stationary cycle when I have had a big dance or inline session the day before. However, the Workout Wizard seems to only offer the same modality (running) but shorter, say with intervals or otherwise increased intensity. It would be great if it could offer Zone 1 (walk, cycle) and then the AI calculate my upcoming load requirements accordingly. At the moment I feel that by following the plan directly, I have overdone it with the calf and am risking neuromuscular compromise and potentially increased injury risk. Hope that makes sense!
