I am finally getting my wattmeter this week So I would like to re-do my FTP test to have accurate numbers according to my bike and wattmeter.
I do not have an indoor trainer, so outdoor field test is the only option. Do you have any tips on how to proceed? I am thinking about driving to some 20 min long 5-6% hill.

The real test should be done with a great warm up, around 20 minute with some bursts, followed by 3x1’ at max with 1’ recovery in between. Than you’ll do 5 minute easy followed by 5’ all out. Than 10 minutes recovery and finally 20’ all out on an uphill of 4-6%.
Ultimatly i cut a lot this program doing the 3x1’ with 10-15’ recovery before the 20’.
To find a proper uphill you can check strava and search for one where the kom is around 20 min…it should be enough for you.
