File Extension When Downloading Planned Workouts

I download my structured workouts to get them into Zwift. This generally works fine, but there’s some weirdness around the file type when I download them from Athletica. All of them are ultimately being presented to my browser (mobile Safari) as “.html” files instead of “.zwo” or whatever I selected. I get around this by renaming the file locally and removing the extra “.html” extension but this seems like something that could be fixed with little effort.

Dear @cgamio thank you for the message. Can you help me re-creating the issue please?
If I do “Export ZWO” I see “.zwo” files.
When does this happen? I tested both Safari and Chrome on Desktop, and Chrome on Android. I will try also Safari on Mobile, but can you add a little bit of details? As you said, it might be an easy fix.

I was just doing what you described, but here’s a quick screen recording (that I turned into a gif to get it up here). I guess it has something to do with Mobile Safari then

@cgamio you’re right, now I have also replicated with Safari on an iPad, thank you for flagging

It’s probably that Athletica is not setting the MIME type header for the file download. In that case Safari on iOS will default to. “text/html”, hence adding .html on the end.

It would be great if this could be addressed as I use Zwift on iPad or Apple TV, and currently can’t export the file from Athletica to Zwift, unless I use a PC…

we’ve applied a fix @cmaloney @cgamio … please check when you can

Still showing as .html to me.

But @cmaloney you can change the file extension directly on your iPad in the Files app. You need to get to View Settings and enable Show All File Extensions. This will let you lop off the .html when you go to rename the file.

Thanks @cgamio . Once you download from iPad, what’s the best way to get them on Zwift? (Using ipad)

I upload them to training peaks and have that connected to zwift. A free account works fine

okay - thanks. Got it!
