Focus on increasing FTP in off season

Finished my last race so the off season has started. Looking at my plan for the coming period it seems there is a lot of Z2 and endurance planned.
A previous coach I had used the off season to increase FTP over endurance. Is there a way to tune my plan so the focus for the coming period is FTP over endurance?

Hi @Antonie … This was a really good podcast (I thought) with Ingvill Odden who does an incredible study showing the importance of Z2 training volume for the importance of high intensity training performance (i.e., enhanced FTP). As we showed earlier, enhance training volume and zone 2 leads to more fat oxidation at high intensities and permit the enhanced performance at intensities around FTP and higher. Thus, the evidence back our strategy. Of course, you’re always welcome to adapt any training session to be more HIIT vs endurance by simply switching using our Workout Wizard, but the plan is already optimized for you based on the latest research.
