Trying to understand thresholds, watt, when it comes to cyling. I dont know, but I have a feeling that these watts are quite low? Or am I wrong? Shouldnt they be much higher? My main sport is cycling,
Note, in profile, bike, it says Critical Power (CP) = 163 W. I understand FTP should be around the same value as well. Couldnt find FTP though, on the platform.
Just a generaly breakdown, but say (CP, W),
beginner - 100-150 W
Intermediate - 150 - 200 W
Advanced amateur - 250 - 350 W
Elite - 350 - 450+
How can I understand this better? And, or should I do a new FTP test or smth?
Somewhere along the lines you would have accepted a change in your threshold. I’ve gone back and changed it to your critical power (same as FTP) over 1 year of data. You can see how to do that here via your cycling power profile chart and select the year of data. Ultimately, and yes, to your point, you are due for a new 20 min all out test to calibrate better your critical power. While I’ve made these updates now note that there is currently a lag response to the backend update so give it 24 hours to take effect in your zones.
Hi @the-primal-swede ,
We’re looking into your data a bit further and we note that Strava is sending us an average power number, but, no per second power number. Garmin is not sending us anything. Can you please perhaps try disconnecting your connections and then reconnecting, excepting permissions, etc?
