Previously, I’ve only done runs on Athletica, but now I am moving into Ironman training. However, the first three rides that I’ve done on my bike, using my wahoo kicker, have asked me to have a heart rate between around 100 to 120 bpm. This is fine but I’m basically at a 102 110 power output for that since I haven’t biked in a couple years.
However, when I Then look at my bike workout, which is super easy because it’s super low heart rate and very low power, it says I’m outputting maximum effort. Which I’m clearly not. Under settings, it says my critical power in my threshold is 92.
How do I update the critical power threshold?
I did not do a test week when starting this plan because I didn’t want to go through all of my tests for my running and swimming but if there is someway, I can do a test and update my bike threshold that would be good.
To be clear, I don’t know what my critical power threshold is, but I assume there is a test that I could take for that? Like an FTP test or something?
So you did not do any of the tests? Do you still have the test week in your calendar history, or you toggled “skip test week”? The easiest way if you don’t have test week in your history to re-generate a new plan, save all the tests to your library for easy access on the future. If you don’t want to do all the tests (which I definitely would recommend) you can re-generate again after you’ve saved your tests to your library.
Good to test all disciplines to get a current status and intensity zones. But up to you of course! Good luck

I did the bike MAF test but after it uploaded, I didn’t see any updates to my threshold settings? (Both settings did update late last week after I did a few rides but nothing after the MAF.)
When should the MAF test update either the Critical power or Critical HR settings?
Thanks @jbeech01 (and for the kind comment in ST Forum as well). MAF test isn’t yet implement into our training logic and for now it is an FYI. Use it to compare to your Zone 2/3 cutoffs. Use it to look at the change in power (or pace) with duration at that same HR. You’ll note that coach analysis is getting better and better (bravo to @Andrea@Stef ) and we’ll continue to refine this in the future. Note also this is not critical power or HR range (zone 4) but more Zone 2/3.
So if I’m looking to make sure that my load readings are correct, since it seems that those are reading pretty high for the effort I’m feeling, is the FTP test the one I want to do and if so, will that automatically update my threshold/critical power/critical heart rate numbers?
