Hi, I did an easy 2km test run (not Athletica planned) to see how it looks on my Training Plan and saw this as feedback…“Your mWR was low at 1%, indicating a hard effort, but it’s encouraging to see you testing your limits cautiously. The FTI of 93% shows you maintained a high intensity relative to your threshold, demonstrating your commitment”…what does mWR & FTI mean? In future, what is the best resource to go and find this information? Thanks. Adam.
Hey @Adam_Tri_Hard ,
Thanks for checking out Athletica. Its always a bit tricky in the beginning when Athletica is just getting to know you.
There are many places to find help on Athletica. The first is from your calendar page:
The WR means Workout Reserve. This is a nice blog post that talks about it and how you can also get this value live on your Garmin device. The reason it’s so low for your presently is that you don’t yet have a good history of training in Athletica. That of course will change over time.
For many of the terms, when you hover your mouse over them you’ll note that you can click through to a definition of the term.
Fractional Training Intensity (FTI) is a measure of the intensity of the activity completed vs. your threshold. For example, an FTI of 100% would indicate that you worked at your threshold for the duration of the activity.
mWR: The lowest value of your WR achieved during each training session plays a prominent role in our system, which is why we show it separately. A negative value means that you exceeded your previous best performance for the exercise duration indicated by the WR chart.
Many thanks for your detailed explanation. I have just read the Blog link you provided and what an interesting field WR is to measure intensity and effort against PB. Look forward to evaluating that over future training.
