Off-Season planning and best way to program it in Athletica

Hello, I’m new to the forum and looking for some advice. I’m on 3 months training with Athletica and just finished 3 months running block (took 40s off my 5K PR and 2min 10s off from my 10K PR). I’m very impressed. My main goal is prep for triathlon racing season (Sprint/Olympic) with key event nationals. Mostly for longevity reason + injury prevention I’m always trying to do something different in Off-season (not entirely new but something to challenge different systems). For this year (24/25) off-season starting now – Dec I will do following:

#1 Priority: Strength: 3x/week (Heavy weight + Functional movements)

#2 Priority: Bike: 2x/week (45-60 Vo2 session + Z2 90-120min)

#3 Priority: Hyrox (1K run, 1K skier, 1K run, 1K row…) 1x/week (50min) to target anerobic capacity

#4 Priority: Swim 2-3x/week (mostly short 20-30min – sprints and strength)

#5 Priority: Run: 3x/week (short 15-30min). Hills/Sprints/Brick

I’m currently planning to go unscheduled and add those every Monday but I realized that is not going to show (Fitness/Fatigue/Form) since they are all coming from my own library and it will not adjust intensity/time based on the load. Wondering if anyone tried to do something like that and took different approach to create more custom plan generated by athletica. Thanks, Pawel

You can use the “train to maintain” option instead of putting races in.

Set it for as long as you want to do this for (and what sort of event you want to stay “fit” for) and the coach will schedule you sessions without anything really pushing too much of an intensity

thanks @jockefc23 , I will play around with this function

Hi @WOZ… welcome and thanks for this comment. In addition to what’s mentioned, have you also considered joining the beta group, then programming in those constraints, plus using the ‘train-to-maintain’ option?

thanks for reply @Prof . I would be happy to join the beta group since building custom training plan tailored to specific needs outside of the standard options is very intriguing to me and probably many other athletes.

Okay have added you @WOZ but be sure to have read the thread I sent you before making any comments about issues, etc… the features aren’t perfect yet and those in the beta group understand the limitations…
