Questions of a newcomer : about training plan and connections

Hi,
I’m arriving at the end of the free trial and I wonder about becoming a subscriber. I have some questions.
1/ Ai coach « thinks » that I’m a beginner cyclist (cf screenshot). I’m maybe not confirmed but I’m not a beginner. I just want to be sure that the AI doesnt calculated a plan for « beginners ».
2/ After my workouts the plan takes hours to update BUT at the end nothing changes, except for a few minutes (1 or 2) more or less in a session
3/ My recovery profile is supposed to be based on my resting heart rate, and on my HRV BUT since I dont use Garmin Connect except for my workouts, you don’t have these informations. I could mesure my HRV with an extra app, and I know my RHR since I have an Apple Watch. But is there a way to enter manually these informations in Athletica ?
4/ My cycling profile shows that I need improvements in Vo2 max intensity (so VO2 max sessions) and short Hiits, but my training plan doesnt reflect it so much.
5/ Is there a way to change manually some settings of proposed workouts ? For exemple on Wednesday I ride with the club, so it’s at least a 2h workout.

Thank you for your answers !

Best, TJ

Hey @TomJoad
sorry for a very late reply.

  1. AI coach is calling you “beginner” because of the weekly training hours you’ve set (4-10 hrs per week). Personally I think this is an unfortunate way of categorize athletes, and I think you agree… just because someone has 4-10hrs available, doesn’t mean they are new to the game  hope you can see pass AI Coach’s insult  The system calculates a plan based on your available hours, but let’s ask @Prof is there any other changes that the “beginner/recreational/competitive” title cause to the plan?
  2. It can take overnight or even longer for the system to finish calculating the plan. Note that if you look into the future weeks ahead, those sessions will change as you tick off workouts, so the plan is truly adaptable. It is not a static plan. The system learns to know you and what you can do, so workouts during the week 2 matter a lot, and durations (and your target zones as you improve) will change as you train. So if you can keep ticking boxes, you’ll start to notice how the workouts actually change.
  3. There is no way of manually entering this data at the moment. We are working on this in the future.
  4. Not sure I understand what you mean. Do you not have any HIIT sessions in your plan?
  5. You can manually move, delete or change sessions. You can also add a workout and save it your library and pull it to your training plan from your library.
Hope these answered your questions. Let me know if any other questions…
    MJ
