Hello, I’ve been training with Athletica for about two months, and so far my goal has been “Train to Maintain.” I’m signed up for a half distance race on April 26, 2026, so I have 30 weeks until then. This will be my main goal in 2025. I plan to compete in at least one Olympic-distance race before then, probably in March, but there’s no set date yet. My question is whether it’s worth creating a training plan now with the 70.3 as my goal. If I add secondary races (B) after starting the training program, will this reset the plan?
It’s absolutely worth setting a goal for April, 2026. That way, Athletica can help you dial in your base and get in a really good winter of training. Make sure you’re getting in some strength training as well!
