Swim mWR always showing as 100% regardless of session intensity

Hi all,

As the title says my swim workout mWR is always reporting as 100% since I changed my watch recently from Fenix 5 to Epix 2 which has wrist hr. The load is being reported accurately though. Does the mWR affect the calculations for future workouts or is it solely representative of the current workout.

I have turned off wrist HR for swimming in the setting but it was still recorded :person_shrugging:. I’m going to have another attempt again after watch reboot to see if I can disable the wrist HR as the wrist based readings seem to be pretty useless anyway…

Dear @MarcB thank you for bringing this up.

To answer your question, no, WR is not going to affect calculations of future workouts. So don’t worry. It’s just for you at this stage for monitoring progresses, for post-exercise assessment and pacing.

Whilst we are confident that WR can be valuable in power based sports (cycling, rowing), we rely on GPS accuracy when it comes to speed (running), and on magnetometer (?) accuracy when it comes to swim. When a good estimation of speed is not available, we rely on HR. Despite we show Workout Reserve for HR-derived data, we are not 100% confident about the accuracy of the outcomes.

Thank you so much for reporting this, and please keep us posted on results if you’d like.
