I have my my workouts synced to my Garmin, but when I go to do my swim workouts in the pool, the paces are significantly faster than what’s listed in the workout. For example, for my long HIIT swim tomorrow, the second interval is 2:44-3:02/yd in training plan but comes through to my watch as 2:30-2:47/yd. What is the reason for this, and is there any way I can fix this?
@Prof flagging you on this.
Hi @Hannah … could you try disconnected your Garmin sync in Athletica, wait an hour, then reconnect it? Let me know if that doesn’t solve the issue and we’ll dig deeper for you.
Best,
Paul
I tried that, but I am still having the same issue.
Hi @Prof
Not sure if there has been any progress on this but I can confirm this is still happening

Certain Garmin watches have a Critical Swim Speed built in. You may need to adjust that, as the workout sent over from athletica seems to use that, somehow (similar to how workouts sent to Zwift are based on your Zwift FTP not ahletica CP).
I have a FR955 and from the device main menu > User Profile > Critical Swim Speed using the Connect App. Try adding a couple of seconds to whatever CSS you have in Garmin and see if it matches better.
thanks @shiehb I have tried to follow your recommendations, set my Garmin to 2:00/100m (previously set to 1:50/100m) while Athletica is set to 1:50/100y
I have removed the workout from my watch, pushed it from Athletica, synced the watch, but I get the exact same interval pace as before.
Thanks all. Tagging @Stef to this thread. He has a number of items ahead however I know he’s working on optimizing the swim UX in the future. Thanks for your patience and help.
