(Tip) Best way to sync an Athletica workout with a Wahoo

Hey guys,

Im just 2 hours into Athletica, prepping for a bike race next month… and I wanted to sync all the workouts it made for me, with my Wahoo.

This has been pretty crazy. But its doable.

Let me explain my flow and anyone can chime in with a better way

  1. Export each workout for the week (.MRC file) and rename like this !-20250120-Mon-FTPTest. Something like that for each one and save them all in a folder on your computer.
  2. Then connect your Wahoo head unit with USB to your computer
  3. Download this free app online called OpenMTP
    https://openmtp.ganeshrvel.com/
  4. Open the program OpenMTP and refresh the right side to see your Wahoo folders
  5. Go to Plans and drop in all the workouts
  6. Go to head unit and to planned worked outs and then SYNC on the top of page. When you scroll down now you will see 2x default tests and then your planned work outs for the week

Is this all correct above? Lot of steps but it does work

Also if anyone knows a way to DELETE the wahoo default 2x tests and 7x defualt work outs, please let me know!

Happy to help, if anyone is trying to do the same
Phillip

Looks like it must be an ERG to work, the MRC one imports messed up.

Is there a benefit of using MRC for the workouts instead of ERG?

What’s the difference between erg file and the mrc file ?

I think erg file format uses percent of FTP.

When I used to create these manually with my computrainer (donated it), we had to do this with excel or a ASCII format in time and percent ftp. Computrainer had a mode called multirider where multiple trainers could be setup in a group mode or race mode. The intention was for indoor time trials.

Peaksware, now defunct, had a program where you could build your own profile much like zwofactory.com for Zwift.

I don’t think I’m helping your issue much though
