Dr. Tony was on fire and this episode is a must listen for anyone either training in perimenopause, menopause and beyond, or coaches who work with women.

@Marjaana I planned on creating a post about how amazing this episode was! I was becoming increasingly concerned about my fasted morning runs after a lot! of prominent coaches (and athletes) are so loud about being totally against them for females. Thank you to whoever decided to have Dr. Boutagy on, as it was a much needed clarification on where the science stands. Also I discovered a new podcast And I loved the episode where Paul Laursen was on! So many great insights from coaches who work with women and not only ārepeat the researchā
Thank you @NicoleLB85
I agree! It a shame how certain profiles are spewing misinformation and use scare tactics. Dr. Tony is well-spoken and passionate coach and scientist, and we loved having him on. His podcast is phenomenal. Iāll link it here for all: Stronger with Time - Podcast - Apple Podcasts
I finally finished this episode a couple of days ago, and my mind was blown. I loved the information that applied to everyone (going to go tell my dad to make sure heās hitting the weights at the gym!) but it also made me feel a lot better about being an endurance athlete when all of this āinformationā is going around about how women should only be doing HIIT intervals and lifting heavy weights.
I donāt think Iāll ever voluntarily work out completely fasted because I just feel better with at least a banana in my stomach, but it makes me feel better about the times Iāve been traveling for work or on vacation and needed to get a run in before things are open.
So glad you enjoyed it and you are inspiring your Dad to lift weights!
Absolutely, there is NOTHING wrong about being an endurance athlete, NOR training fasted. You do you!
Thanks for letting us know you enjoyed it!
