Are there plans to incorporate the breathing data from a device like a Tymewear VitalPro to the training plans from Athletica?
Also, yes, another great podcast on breathing rate data by the way. Keep teaching and we will keep learning!!

Hey @fekieser
For sure! It’s all in the pipeline @Andrea and @Prof are keen on this as well. Tell us, are you using TymeWear? What have you learned?
MJ
Coach MJ,
I do not have one at this time but after listening to the podcast yesterday I was extremely interested. Especially when I heard that Dr. Seiler was involved! I think, based on what I heard everyone say, that this could be a valuable new tool so since I get “me” money once a year, that this year the VitalPro would be my purchase to try and incorporate breathing metrics into my training.
Again, I’m no pro just an average Joe trying to get as good as I can get and a decently priced tool is worth trying I believe.
Birthday gift idea for Mrs. Kieser
When I heard three Months ago that Dr. Seiler is involved and the stuff is used by TVLAB, I was interested. Dug a little deeper - and finally ordered one unit.
I hope it will be shipped in the first week of September - it’s like being 6 years old and waiting for the Christkind…
Coach MJ,
Like @ddolezal, I to have ordered the VitalPro and they should be sent out in September. I was wondering if we will be seeing any integrations into Athletica.ai, even in beta any time soon? If not, what would be Athletica.ai suggestions for using the data that is derived from the new strap? How do we beat incorporate the data into our training plans?
Thanks!
Forrest
Awesome, that’s so exciting! n=1 experiments here we go!
At this time, I think you will be the experts! We are all learning with you. I’m sure @Prof will pencil this one in to the list of integrations as first step.
MJ
@fekieser lets keep ourselves updated about arrival of the units. I desperately hope that the shipment advised for Europe does indeed arrive next week…
@ddolezal My strap should be to me in Monday. Hope yours is on its way as well!
@fekieser UNfortunately, I have not heard from Tymewar for 4 Weeks now…..
Well my Tymewear VitalPro arrived today so testing begins tomorrow! @ddolezal I hope yours arrives soon! Looking forward to the results and getting the data into Athletica.ai as soon as they are ready to receive it.
Cosa c’è di differente rispetto ad un Garmin?
@Giuseppe85
Garmin simply does not offer such a device.
The Tymewear measures Breathing rate and breath depth which are - according to the latest information - a quite good and almost real time indicator for the stress a certain training load “inflicts” on your organism.
Perhaps listen to the podcast episode with Dr Seiler:
The Athlete’s Compass: From Load to strain - Dr. Stephen Seilers latest research.
@fekieser Still waiting - and quite interested in your findings when setting up and using your device.
Setup was pretty straight forward and worked without issue. I did my cycling test today and plan on my running test tomorrow. I got the results back from the app and just reviewing everything now to decide how best to use the new found information. Hoping to get some time this weekend to read through their documents to help in understanding of how best to use the information in Athletica.ai.
Bottom line is they give you a score in your various zones, give info on how much you should spend in each zone for the week and even provided a workout library for you to use to pick the daily workout from.
Hopefully yours arrives soon!!
@Marjaana Coach MJ,
Now that I have my Tymewear VitalPro and have done my cycling and running tests, how would you suggest that we best use the zone data and training suggestions that it has given me within Athletica.ai? I’m not looking for any future enhancement news or anything like that, just asking, as a coach knowing what Athletica.ai does now how would you incorporate the threshold data and training suggestions into the application and use it?
Thanks!
Forrest
You are a pioneer in this! I am interested to learn more about what Tyme Wear dashboard is giving you. I would personally keep track of your key workouts especially the ones you regularly repeat in similar conditions (like indoor rides) and how your Time Wear data informs you about your effort. What are you learning about yourself, and your breathing? Are you making any reflections at high intensity, low intensity, long duration? How do your Time Wear data correlate with HR or RPE?
@fekieser
Received my unit on friday and tried (not very well, I must admin) to do a ramp test ride outdoors as I have no trainer and ran into some inconveniences which I have to solve first.
Currently am struggling with integrating the Sensor into my Garmin Environment and hope to have my zones assigned by the tymewear staff.
Then I will have a look how well the tymewear results match with the athletica results and how these match with my afasteryou results.
Concerning @Marjaana s interest in Tymewears dashboard - I think that they are at the beginning of the process and have to deal with a ton of requests from Users who had their units shipped in the last couple of weeks - so I shall not be too critical; but: there is still work to be done…..
@Marjaana Coach MJ,
I agree with @ddolezal that Tymewear’s interface is a work in progress. I think that they too, have a long way to go to make it user-friendly and more a trainiing app. It works and shows you the values, but not enough education their yet to truely make it all useful as metrics to follow and understand. The one year of coaching that comes with the purchase I cannot speak to as there is not much out there on it at this time from a user perspective.
With all that being said, what I am interested in and where I think that Athletica comes in to play is that I believe that Tymewear, and others agree and that list is growing daily from what I keep reading, have a good insite into VT1, VT2, etc. Based on the Athletica podcast on Tymewear, I got the impression that you all feel that Athletica see value in their values as well. Thus, my question posed to you and Athletica. How do you think their values compare to Athletica’s derived values for VT1, VT2, etc? What is the best way that we can use Athletica, as that is my choice app at this time, to use these VT1, VT2 values, etc. in getting the best out of our Athletica derived plans? I ask because using the automatic values that I can set in Athletica does not match up with what is coming in from Tymewear, so any thoughts or suggestions on what we can do to work with these values within Athletica? Not neccessarily to replace anything totally within Athletica, but to complement each other in getting the best out of me and others using both products.
Just adding myself to the list of users that now have a Tymewear Vital Pro. I’m still learning what the numbers mean and how to use, but definitely am looking forward to some sort of integration with Athletica.
