Having just finished a running plan, I’m looking forward to start a triathlon one for 2025 very soon. I was just doing some experimentations and notice that I can choose between 25m or 50m pool, one of the pools that I frequently go to is actually a 33m pool, do you have any suggestions about how to best adapt the training session to match? 100m lenghts are straightforward, but not sure what to do about 50m lenghts.
Hi @rykiferreira,
There’s probably no right or wrong way to adapt to your situation. If your session is speed focused (i.e., swim speed session) you might want to opt for the shorter length option just doing 33m. Then as you develop experience and more fitness, increase that to 66m. Conversely, if the swim session aim is ‘aerobic development’ or ‘strength endurance’, you might want to aim for the 66m option. But as I started, there’s no right or wrong way. I would go with the flow and your feel for this modification.
Best,
Paul
