Change percentage of disciplines (swim bike run)

Excellent to hear! You are now in the beta group. Here’s the newsletter that went out fyi so you can understand a bit how it works. Thanks for your support!

I’d be interested in this as right now I am manually reducing some cycling time on the weekends and adding to the running.

Will it restart my plan if I take part in my only concern?

Hi @DaveBoyle … yes - you’ll need to be comfortable resetting your plan. In theory you should get a better working template but, of course, you never know

Which particular newsletter date should I look at? The link takes me to a 404 site indicating it’s not available, but I can just grab it from the newsletter section of the Help and Education header in the app

Hello @jcarzu. Thank you and I have just added you to our beta group. Welcome and thank you for your feedback. Please read elsewhere on the forum for info around user-time-constraints feature, procedures and current limitations. Best, Paul

Hi @Prof, is there a possibility to eliminate all biking workouts? At the moment I cannot create a schedule that focusses on running + strength/conditioning. Is it possible that this is only possible in mid-volume plans?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Unrelated question: I have added my target time but my workouts don’t change their planned paces. Is that correct?

Hi @DCP ,
This should be possible using our beta version of our user-time-constraints feature. Unfortunately this feature is in beta version only and only available to subscribers. It is working at about 90% capacity (good but not perfect). If you choose to move forward with subscribing and this interests you please let me know and I will add you into the group so you can specify your dates, times, and exercise modes.
Best,
Paul

Hey @DCP
Just chiming in here. When you add your target times to your race goals, the program will not change your paces according to what your target :dart: times (pace) are.

  1. Say my goal is to run a 3:30 marathon. That’s 5min/km pace. At the moment it’s my zone 3b pace. Not terribly far off, but enough that I know based on my recent raining, that if I start at 5min/km I will not be able to hold that for 42km.
Now if my training paces were based on this intensity, I would always be running just a tad too hard for my physiologically, and probably not recovering quickly enough to tick the next days’ workout box. :white_check_mark: why? Because training too hard is longer to recover from… and it is the consistency that is the king, not heroic efforts couple of times a week…
  2. Athletica uses your physiology to base training programming on (instead of your goal time/pace), ensuring you progress safely and healthy towards your goals.
  3. Getting to the start line is 90% of the battle- race day is the celebration! :tada:

Hi @Tonio ,
Thank you for your support. Unfortunately there isn’t any special for beta testers as the relationship is win-win. The user gets access to the latest features in beta being tested and we get to test it. Please note that the group is working with experimental algorithms and users should expect for there to be issues from time to time (please read other threads on the forum). Please read the user-time-constraints thread for info about the feature.
Thanks for being part of the group!
Best,
Paul

I want to play with this feature without messing up my current plan. Is there a way to know the current distribution so I can only fine tune it?

Sorry @anilakarsu there isn’t. Its not intuitive but the percent discipline inputs more relate to the fitness calculations in onboarding than anything else. In my experience, it does very little if anything to adjust your plan. Main plan adjuster will be leveraging your user-time-constraints for beta users.

@Prof - please add me as beta. thanks! New subscriber.

Ann

Hi Ann… you’ve been added to beta.
Best,
Paul
