Invite: Velocity session

Hey, are you new here? Did you know we offer Velocity indoor cycling training LIVE sessions with both @SimpleEnduranceCoach and myself for mere 5USD per month.
Our live sessions are excellent opportunity to get to know other Athletica athletes and learn how to do our key workouts properly. Plus we have a friendly discussions, cheering and competitions amongst us. @Prof also shows up so you can ask him questions as well!

Here’s our live session schedule with replays during the weekend.

Hi Marjaana,

sounds interesting. How long are these sessions? And do I need a velocity account for this?

typically about an hour. Yes, you need the Velocity account - we offer you a great deal, so you only pay 5USD on top of your Athletica subscription. Hope to see you there!

sorry for asking again but the 5 USD then do include (or are for) the velocity account or are they on top?

Thanks for your patience

It is an additional 5USD to your Athletica sub,

It’s $5 on top of Athletica to fully cover Velocity, no additional fees for Velocity

Hi @Marjaana - I am interested in joining in on these in the near future. My bike that lives on the trainer has terrible shifting. I currently use Zwift controllers which virtually shift via the trainer instead of me physically shifting the bike. I am assuming that won’t work with Velocity? If not, are there any other ways to do this that work with Velocity you are aware of? Thanks for any guidance you might have!

Hey, welcome at any time!
I’m not familiar with the Zwift controllers to be honest. You could give it a try before committing to see if works. Not sure if ERG mode would help you a little bit, but certainly a better experience with a properly shifting gears. Time for new bike for birthday ?

The disclaimer text does say that the Zwift shifting only works with the Zwift platform, but you never know so definitely worth a try! Otherwise, the only option is unfortunately physical shifting, so maybe see if there’s an affordable tuneup or parts replacement to enable shifting? That said, if you are ok changing cadence more than usual, you may be able to minimize the need to shift in the sessions. E.g. super heavy legs when on the easy end, super fast cadence during the efforts…

Either way, would love to see you on Velocity!
