I’m trying to upload a garmin captured ice hockey .fit file. I can see in garmin connect that it has HR data and time available. I imagine that is all Athletica would use for a team sport or generic “cardio” activity. However, when I try to upload the file I get a “No valid modailities” error and it does not import anything to the activity. I have tried team sport, other, and cardio.
Any advice? I have tried repairing the .fit file and parsing to a csv, no luck so far.
Hi @cmcclur13 … for HYROX we’re using the ‘Multisport’ option when athletes do the mixed modal run-station-run sessions. This might be a solution in the short term for your hockey sessions. Can you give that a try?
No dice unfortunately. Still getting the “No valid modalities” error. I can in the future record hockey as just cardio in garmin, though I don’t think I can change that retroactively. I would be happy to provide the .fit file if that would help.
So for your ‘ice hockey’ .fit file, was this a self-created exercise mode on Garmin? If so, is it populating and showing up as such on your Garmin Connect? I’ve done this for my ‘Sauna’ sessions and no issues with it simply populating into Athletica from Garmin Connect…
No it’s a exercise type that comes with the forerunner watches. This was an “indoor ice hockey” so GPS wasn’t turned on. Garmin Connect shows me my HR stats, HR vs time plot, calorie stats, training effect, and timing. There is also a respiration rate vs time but I was only wearing a chest strap during the game and it doesn’t save respiration rate data when it uploads stored data to the watch after the game.
