Suggestions for updating threshold values off

I fairly frequently get a notice from the AI Coach to update various critical/threshold values, be it power, pace, HR, that often does not make sense. Most often, I am recommended to update threshold from 173(!) to something. 173 is my max HR. Today it wanted to set my threshold to 143, which is 10 too low according to my test one year ago. I suppose this was a result from a threshold/vo2max interval session yesterday. I accepted this time just to see what happens. Seems that what was updated was the Default critical HR, which I am not sure when is used. Also, and this may have been fixed, I have more than once returned to these values without accepting changes and found 173 to be set as critical HR.. Perhaps there should be a field for inputting max HR and/or more known values if one has done lab tests?

Case in point, today’s notification. Note that none of my athlete’s zones have 173 set as threshold. Dismissed it this time around, whereas I accepted the exact same change just before posting the above.

Hey @halvor ,

note that this is default heart rate. Default hr would mean any other activity other than your regular “swim, bike, run” if you’re a triathlete, or run if you’re a runner. For example if you walk to work or for pleasure, your default hr would reflect that. So consider what other activities you do regularly that are recorded in Athletica, In light of those activities, does 143 bpm as threshold make sense?

Best, MJ
