What's the conversion from lactate threshold to critical speed?

On Monday, Athletica updated my critical speed out of the blue to be ~100 seconds faster. That’s, uhhh, not right, to say the least.

I’ve historically used my Garmin as my source of truth for lactate threshold data, but with the change to critical speed, I don’t know how to correct it. Is there a conversion factor from threshold to critical pace & HR? Google has been kind of all over the place, so I figured I’d ask the experts. Cheers!

Hi @ohlylo ,
Thanks for asking the question. I’ve included a screenshot from your profile so we can see where to find this info for others. Here it shows that your critical pace is about 9:14/mile. I’ve updated accordingly.
Best,
Paul

Thanks for the reply. I figured maybe it was a fluke and went with what you showed me.

Today, I went to check my workout and got the same change again:

I know I’m not such a superstar that the bot should be wanting to whack 2 whole minutes off my threshold pace, haha.

Interestingly, if I look at my pace profile for 2024 rather than past 6 weeks, the critical pace there is 7:16. Seems like a bug related to the changeover, maybe.

Thanks @ohlylo … have reported. If you can just leave that notification open so our devs can take a look I’d appreciate it.
