When was the last time you had a bike fit?

In the latest episode of the Athlete’s Compass podcast, we talk with physical therapist and bike fitter, Dr. Stacey Brickson about the importance of getting a regular fit - especially as we get older.

Here’s the episode: The Truth About Aging on a Bike: Dr. Stacey Brickson Explains - Athletica

I got a fit from one of Dr. Brickson’s students in Milwaukee, Deb Slota, at Milwaukee Bike and Body and I’ve felt better on my gravel bike ever since.

What about your bike fit?

Had a fit last month in advance of a new bike build. We used my current 20 year-old bike as the basis. Seems I had allowed the fit to drift over time, especially after adding new bars.

What a difference! Having made what seem to be minor changes here and there, including a new saddle, I might argue (though I hate to admit it at this point) I might not have needed to invest in a new frame (though I probably would have anyway!). And that’s before I size-down the cranks.

Well worth the spend on a thoughtful fitter. Especially those thinking they need a new bike. You might not (even though you probably will anyway!)!
