Wrong matching of activities and workouts

AAI permanently matches my short commutes to the prescribed workout(s) for the day, i.e., a ~10 min commute to a 3 h Aerobic development prescription… It should really not do that and if the time and load are so much off it should also really not be a problem at all to recognize this…

Generally, it is annoying to have to unpair or re-pair the workouts…

Today, it really confused itself. It assigned – as always – a commute to my workout. I unpaired that in the phone app after I had actually performed the planned workout, which was a 4 x 7 30/30s, and immediately recalculated the plan. Not knowing what it prescribed itself.

Well, now I have an unplanned 4 x 7 30/30s workout in the books – and I cannot find that workout in the global library to manually add it to today’s plan… well, no worries here, I did it already anyway;-)

Moreover, the recalc kept the 4 x 10’ K3 @ SST for tomorrow and added a 4 x 10 30/30s for Friday. This (Vo2max, K3/SST, VO2max on three consecutive days) is surely not appropriate for a 50+ age-group athlete :-o

Again, the first problem here being the “stupid” (sorry) matching algorithm, vide supra. Can that please be improved?

For now you might be able to reduce the replanning by changing the update setting. Under Settings → Profile look for this:

It sounds like you may have 0 or 1 in there for ‘Prevent session modification for the next X days’ ? If so, maybe set it to 2 or even 3 if you regularly make changes for today and/or tomorrow.

Good point. However, I did not make any changes:-o

Nevertheless, it might be useful to set the “updates” frequency to “daily”, although I really don’t want that. O want to see the update due to my performed workout and feedback already in the evening of that day, not only the next day – because I have to plan my schedule, and possibly the schedule of others, availability for “soccer dad duties”, etc. based on these updates…

Again, good point, but the actual problem here is the wrong matching…

Yup. Just offering it as a temporary option to make things a bit easier for now…

Hello @joku
I can understand the frustration of mis-match unplanned commutes with actual planned workouts. I agree, your commutes should not be matched with your structured planned rides. I’ve added this to our roadmap. Thank you for flagging this

I’d advice you to change the Friday’s 30/30s for sure. Unfortunately I fear AI is trying to uphold your daily availability and maximize your load - If you go to your Training-Daily Availability, you have set quite a few restrictions for the AI to respect. Unfortunately it is not able to produce a common-sense plan for you and is indicating that plan quality may suffer. I’d suggest releasing some of those restrictions.
