Did I messed up my training plan? šŸ˜¬

vaIā€™m currently training for a full Ironman on June 22, 2025, and so far the training plan has felt great! Iā€™ve just added another race, the T100 distance on August 10, 2025. After adding it, I now have a testing week scheduled for next week, which feels unnecessary. I donā€™t think it will make much of a difference. The plan now includes strength training, days with swim/bike/run on the same day (which I canā€™t fit into my schedule), and the weekly volume seems to have increased by 3-5 hours

Any way I can revert things? :scream:

When you update and save your settings there is a checkbox to tick to skip test week. Suggest you update, skip test week, tell it to start next week then leave overnight. for the engine to do its work.

Iā€™ve noticed that after a big event like Ironman, the AI coach sees a massive jump in fitness (and rightfully so), and your added load could be related to that (@Prof ?). I donā€™t like to have a set plan already the next week after IM but I will take it very easy and focus on recovery, before I make a new plan. Recovery from Ironman can take a week, but it can also take a full month. You can always re-plan it once you are ready to pick it up again, but make sure you are recovered and donā€™t rush into the next build towards T100ā€¦
Hope this helps,
MJ

So I tried that, and also removed the second race for good measure. I left it recalculate overnight but things didnā€™t really get better.

Iā€™m suspecting that as I generated my plan before the update of the ā€œabout youā€ section, the settings arenā€™t align with what I had when I initially created my plan.

I guess Iā€™ll have to figuring out from the settings how to get back to something similar to my previous plan :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

That was my initial thoughtā€”just to add the second race, ignore the training plan, and focus solely on recovery.

What I didnā€™t foresee was that this would completely modify my training plan, shifting it away from my Ironman race!

I suspect the update from the ā€œAbout Youā€ section might be the reason for such a drastic change, as my previous plan was generated before that update, and I never modified that section since its release.

Now, Iā€™m low-key panicking, trying to figure out how to get back to something similar to my previous training plan.

Hi @Fabien ā€¦ would you like me to remove you from the beta group as one possible solution?

If you donā€™t mind, yes!

Something that I noticed is that it seems that Iā€™m now on the medium volume (see attached image, plus the plan also has strength training that I didnā€™t have before), where I was on the low before. With the new UI I canā€™t see how to set back as low

Iā€™ve moved you out of the beta program @Fabien ā€¦ please give that a try.

Thanks, @Prof. It seems Iā€™m still experiencing the same issue.

My previous training plan was:

  • Monday: Swim
  • Tuesday: Run, Bike
  • Wednesday: Bike, Swim
  • Thursday: Run, Swim
  • Friday: Rest
  • Saturday: Brick session
  • Sunday: Long run

Now, my plan is:

  • Monday: Swim, Strength
  • Tuesday: Swim, Bike, Run
  • Wednesday: Bike, Strength
  • Thursday: Swim, Run
  • Friday: Bike, Swim
  • Saturday: Brick session
  • Sunday: Long run

I tried adjusting the Experience Level between ā€œBeginnerā€ and ā€œRecreational,ā€ but it doesnā€™t seem to affect the plan after re-generating it. The Ramp Rate is set to ā€œNormal,ā€ but Iā€™m unsure if I should adjust it.

Hi @Fabien ā€¦ You are no longer in the beta group as requested so you are back to template plans. That means youā€™ll need to move the sessions around in accordance with your context. This should prevent the AI from messing things up for you at least. However your plan can no longer be how it was previously when you were in the beta group until the development process is completed and these bugs are ironed out for all.

This plan doesnā€™t look anything like what I had before joining the beta or during the beta.

I initially created the plan at the beginner level, aiming for ~12 hours per week. Occasionally, it went up to 14 hours, but it was still manageable. Now, some weeks have 18 hours planned, which I donā€™t understandā€”how is that expected for an ā€œExperience Level: Beginnerā€?!

Are you suggesting that I manually delete all the strength training and other sessions that have been added?

For now, Iā€™m just trying it out by setting the hours manually in the settings, but it feel that my account is totally broken.

Thanks @Fabien ā€¦ weā€™ve since squashed a few bugs and also added some guidance in the UI/X so you know what level plan you should get (low, mid, high volume). Your plan has since been re-generated and looks more in line with what you would be expecting now I think.

Thanks @Prof, this is more like it!

The only thing now is that next weeks training seems to be under 10hours where before I was between 12h to 14h.

It makes sense that itā€™s under 10h based on the settings, Iā€™m just wondering the following as Iā€™ll try to set it back to were it was.

  • Whatā€™s the impact of ā€œExperience levelā€ on the plan
  • If I make some change, does ~10min is enough to see its impact or I should wait for more?

Also it seems that my fitness will be going down moving forward

Thanks for your support

Quick update on this: I got hit by a car and had surgery on my hand, so Iā€™ll be out of the sport for two months. Ironman is off the table, so the issue with my plan is no longer relevant!

Iā€™m not sure yet about the T100 in Augustā€”I may just reset my plan once Iā€™ve recovered. Athletica was a great tool before my injury, but given my new limitations, Iā€™m not sure if it will still be the best fit. Iā€™ll reassess later!
