Example of what Athletica.AI does right

Like a lot of athletes I listen to training podcasts, one I generally like is the Age Group Triathlon Podcast. This week Simon Onley reflected on his experiences using an “AI” training platform, considering whether it would replace coaching.

TLDR - he chose a poor example of an “AI” tool but the value I see is how Athlethica shines in the contrast.

I think there are a lot of lessons in his experiences for what Athletica.AI is doing really well. My big takeaway was the focus of Athletica on subjective and objective feedback, and the dynamic community invested in the platform through the forum.

Athletica’s focus is using AI as a tool to help athletes and coaches, not looking to replace them.

Thanks for sharing …
Also my experience with other platforms - a lot of threshold and tempo work day in day out.

Thank you for your kind words, you nailed it!

I agree 100 percent on this on a lot of levels: I do think Athletica is creating a community and a more responsive platform than just cranking out a specific workout plan. Plus Athletica is based more on science than other plans.

And I do think AI could replace the coaches who rely on pre-made plans. When I’ve used Chat GPT to create an example for me, it does a pretty good job creating a reasonable plan. They miss the day to day touch of a coach, plus I as a coach do a lot more than just create a plan. The future of AI is going to be interesting to watch!
