I noticed that there are the same workouts for all 3 disciplines (Vo2, strength, aerobic) that are constantly repeated over the months without differentiating between BASE, BUILD, PEAK. In other experiences (other Ai App/Data driven) I was used to doing 2 months Base (Aerobic), Build 2 months (Medium strength, Treshold), Peak 1 month (Vo2, Race Pace). Is there a scientific basis why ATHLETICA chose this approach? Thank you!
Everything in Athletica has a scientific basis @Giuseppe85 as HIIT Science is the backbone. The VO2 and Strength sessions in the Base period hit the physiological targets you want to develop for your IM Full but they are not delivered to the same load levels as in the build phase. However by touching on them in the base phase you’ll be more prepared to do them in the build phase.
Thank you! I understand that you do “simple” things so as not to confuse the body with different and complicated workouts and always “hit” the same areas with the same stimuli. It seems to me to sound good😊
16 week build is in my opinion pretty standard, although there are other ways to go about doing it as well. IF you feel you need longer base, you can alter your training by adding a bit more of that aerobic base, and use the Workout Wizard for daily adjustments. Listen to your body and mind. Training for a full IM is an exciting journey, and it rarely goes as planned IF you get sick (I think I saw you mention sickness) you can always drop back to a base week for a week as you recover which has more zone 2 work.
The main goal is to not overdo it and stay healthy so you can step the start line healthy and fit!
Great! And how could I go back to Base week? Should I just act through Erkout wizard daily or can I do something to work that I want to do ONLY Base Aerobics that week?
If you want to repeat a base week, you could save all workouts from a base week, and bring them back to your week from your library. At the moment you can’t copy - paste an entire week.
