Max HR way too high, unable to fix

Not sure if this is a bug report or a feature request.

Just reactivated my account, and I’m starting my test week (cycling). The FTP test session on Wednesday includes a 30 second effort (followed by a 30 second rest), and the target HR for those 30 seconds is between 189 and 200 bpm. However, according to my Whoop strap, my current max HR (as an almost 50 year old) is 186 bpm. I have hit a HR of 191 a handful of times over the last 3 years, though not in the past 6 months.

That target HR seems wildly optimistic, but I can’t find anywhere in the software where I might be able to correct it.

(Not to mention that the target wattage for those 30 seconds will not require me to hit a HR anywhere near my max HR.)

Is this a problem for my training plan?

Remi.

Hey! Welcome back!

When you do high intensity interval efforts, don’t worry too much about HR. It takes some time for your HR to hit max, and certainly in 30s it doesn’t have enough time to reach Max. Just give your best effort in your tests without looking at the targets.

Once you are done with your tests, Athletica will adjust your training intensity zones.
