Multi Day Alps Event Next Summer 2024

Hi Folks,

What would be the best way to use athletica.ai to prepare for a Multi-Day Alps Event Next Summer 2024? Can the be configured in the settings?

Thanks

Hi there. The best way to prepare for multi-day events is no different really to other large scale ultra events like Ironman, 100k ultra runs, or single day cycling events. The principles are the same. You want to get to the start in as best shape as possible and somewhat fresh and tapered. As well, you need to train specific for the event. I'm not exactly sure what sort of movement you are doing but if its mountain running, then probably something like the Comrades plan would be appropriate. If it has different legs in it then perhaps Ironman is more appropriate., etc. Get fit, get fresh, train specific to the demands you will encounter (altitude, heat, hills, etc).

I’m also interested in training for multi-day races, specifically in mountain biking (XC), with significant elevation gains (Andorra Epic in 2025 and Swiss Epic in 2026). How could the plan know my preparedness level without knowing that it’s multi-day and what the distance and elevation gain is each day?
I’m new and will be reading more about how the trainer functions but I assumed I would be able to enter the actual dates of the race (not only on a weekend and not a single day) as well as at least the style of race (climbing centric), if not the actual elevation gain. Since I’ve never done an event on this level, I’m worried that if I do a lot of training with elevation to prepare I’ll constantly break the plan (effort higher than prescribed) and/or I won’t be able to trust the preparedness prediction.
