We’re excited to announce the release of a significant new feature in Athletica AI that we’ve been working hard to bring to life: the AI Coach Avatar! This enhancement offers a more interactive and insightful way for you to engage with your AI coach and understand your training data.
What’s New?
The AI Coach now comes with a personalized avatar (select male or female in your settings) that you’ll find in the bottom right corner of various pages within the app. This avatar acts as your virtual assistant, ready to provide you with detailed insights about what you see on the page. Here’s how it works:
Training Calendar: Click on the avatar to view insights about your scheduled and completed sessions, such as comparisons between prescribed and actual workouts and subjective markers you’ve logged.
Session Details: The AI Coach summary that previously appeared in blue in the completed session details is now under the coach avatar. If you leave the AI Coach open when you switch from calendar to session details & analysis, the AI Coach text will change to that session summary.
Graph Profile Page: Get an analysis of your training graphs, with breakdowns and interpretations designed to help you make informed decisions about your training.
Ah, I wondered where the feedback had gone. Previously my power profile was missing shorter efforts. Now I’m back in swing with VO2 long HIIT sessions I get this.
Your profile is well balanced and this is typically the result of a 360-degree preparation across your training. Keep up the good work
Seems I’m no longer unbalanced!
I’ll give more feed back when I oook at it properly after a session. So far, so good.
I am very new on athletica world but this morning i appreciated a lot this new features. In next weeks i’ll check its sentences and my feeling to understand its value. Meantime thank you
The avatar is telling me that my plan ends tomorrow and to consider choosing one of athletica’s personalized plans. My plan doesn’t end tomorrow, and I thought I was already on a personalized plan. What does this mean?
Here is a portion of what I am seeing on the AI coach feedback today:
Last week, you recorded 16 sessions: 5 were executed as planned, while 7 were unplanned. There were no sessions where the actual load was below the prescribed load, and 4 sessions exceeded the prescribed load. Importantly, you didn’t miss any sessions. However, over 70% of your recorded sessions were either missed or not prescribed. That’s okay—let’s aim to improve this week! You might want to utilize Athletica features like the Workout Wizard to adjust your schedule proactively for a more flexible training plan.
Of the 16 sessions I had last week, saying over 70% were “either missed or not prescribed” seems a bit harsh (and inaccurate, 5/16 is a bit under 70%) when I did all the sessions, with a few of them “above target” and added several unplanned walks and the like, which I think I shouldn’t be scolded for
I quite like the new feature - the daily summary is nice to have - it combines data from workouts, the schedule and some of the charts in one spot that is easy to access and quick to read.
I’m not sure I need to be reminded every day to check my HRV, though - maybe now and then? Or maybe there are different categories of suggestions / insights - monitoring HRV (for me) means purchasing new equipment or you guys integrating with Oura - maybe make this type of suggestion configurable?
Thanks @shiehb@nathanchristenson. We’re refining the content and the way the AI Coach speaks on a regular basis. This is really helpful feedback, thank you!
@Andrea and the rest of the team are working hard to make these comments useful, insightful and actionable. We’re also trying to build in some variety so that you don’t see the same thing all the time. It’s a marathon, not a sprint!
At the moment I don’t believe there is a way to easily import HRV data from HRV for training. It’d be nice to be able to turn off the avatar HRV comments when I have no means of providing it.
