Not taking in Test / Power data from my workouts

I am having problems with the platform taking my test / power data into sport zone profiles.

  1. the swim test I did is not showing up on my swimming pace profile. Also, the Garmin data put the wrong distances on the workout, so I corrected the data and tried several times to correct the workout data in Athletica, with no success. I tried to add the FIT file to the workout to overwrite, nothing happened. I tried to Import Data, and after it was complete, it said nothing imported.

  2. On my running profile, it said I should do some 30 and 60 second max efforts. So I did on my last run, and nothing changed on my running profile. It doesn’t seem to be integrating that data in.

htown, how long has it been since you did the swim test and run test? It can take 24-48 hours to filter into the AI recommendations and thresholds. Once you edit the workout, it can also take 24 hours to digest into the algorithm and future workouts.

But if it’s been a while and the edits aren’t working, you may need to manually edit for a bit. Personally, sometimes my Garmin tracks a swim as WAY too fast, or WAY too slow, or decides to drop 25 yards out of a 100, and that bad data can mess up the AI. GIGO! And if you have automatic threshold updates going on, you may not even know it’s happening. You mention that Garmin put the wrong data in, if editing isn’t fixing it…so you can either delete it, or manually override the thresholds based on what you know until that workout drops off.

Either way, if you haven’t yet, make sure you’ve checked the box for Athletica to ASK YOU before threshold changes are made, otherwise the bad Garmin data will revert the change. Plus, then you can see what it’s changing and validate that it matches your test.

Settings > Profile > Automatic Threshold Updates:

And if you decide to manually edit for now, to into Settings > Training > Thresholds:

As you keep swimming, and with the box to notify you checked, you can keep an eye on what the AI wants to do with your growing data and once it’s as you expect you can accept the change and you’re back on AI calculations.

(You can also ask @Marjaana to see if the team can edit that workout for you if your changes aren’t settling.)

Good luck!

Hello Heather
I had a quick look at your profile and confirm that your swim test is not included in your swim profile. I’ll report this to our back end team.
Note that in the future, the quickest way to get help with technical issues is to:
go to support.athletica.ai and hit that “submit a request” on the top right corner.

Thanks @kimberg the problem is that my Garmin always gets the wrong distance on swims like you mentioned. So none of Athletica data around thresholds will ever be right. When I try to fix the data and resubmit it manually to Athletica, it didn’t work.

Thanks. @Marjaana I will submit a ticket using that way. But I did try to respond to the email that said none of the data was successfully uploaded and I got no response.

Unfortunately if your Garmin is recording incorrect distance, your data will reflect that. GIGO principle applies. Why is your garmin recording incorrect distance? Are your watch settings correct? Is your pool non-standard distance like 30m?

When you add .fit file in your training diary, you can hit the top right corner of the workout and add data, then upload .fit file. The manual import is best to use when you have many .fit files inside a .zip file like when you import historical data.
Hope that makes sense.

Watch settings are correct. Garmin is just notoriously inaccurate for pool swims. Yes, pool length is correct.

I tried to upload/import a corrected FIT file to the Atheletica workout and to the platform generally and nothing changed on the Athetica workout for that swim.

Please use the support to submit a request.

Hmm. I don’t have problems with Garmin and distance, other than it misses the kick sets of course because arms are not moving, lol. What type of Garmin device are you using?
MJ

Forerunner 945. No idea why some may be good and others not. I’m pretty consistent and my stroke. Maybe because I refuse to do a flip turn

Sorry about that. Could you check which email address you sent it to so I can double check that we received it and why we didn’t reply.
Thank you :folded_hands:

dev@athletica.ai It was the email that sent out when upload/import was complete. But nothing actually processed. Also when I upload through the workout page itself, nothing happens
