D.r Maffetone is known for the MAF (maximum aerobic function) running and cycling test, and for his research into going slow to get fast.

I’ve now done my A event for this year and have recently gone unstructured. I may just do a concentrated period of riding at my MAF HR before I return to more structured training.

Here we go, today’s ride. My MAF HR is 122 according to the 180 - age. My understanding is that you keep your HR below this, it’s not a target. Some 17% hills tackled at nice slow pace.
