I have the ability to train on my upcoming race courses both in person and virtually using save routes on my Garmin Connect. This will give me a chance to practice specific terrain simulations, and nutrition. Currently, I am in the Build phase of training. My weekend rides include race-pace intervals followed by a run off the bike. During recovery weeks, these intervals are replaced with low intensity Aerobic Development (L2) sessions on undulating roads. I also have an Aerobic Development session during the regular training weeks. My idea is to use the race course routes for some of these sessions. What does the team think of this strategy? Thank you, Joe.

Sounds great Joe, but what is your race course like?
Some are flat courses with interstate overpasses, others are over rolling hills. None of the routes are too technical.

Great. So nothing crazy then. I was thinking if you have race course with lots of climbing it would take more out of you than flat or rolling hills. go for it!
