@Prof
I just have a question concerning workout sync to Garmin Connect:
Last week I had a Workout synced to Connect from Athletica that had a primary and a secondary Workout goal specified - in my workout data screen on my Edge 840 I could see the desired Power thresholds AND the desired HR Thresholds.
Unfortunately, with all following Workouts synced where I checked “Let AI Coach decide the best option” only HR was transferred to Connect.
Up to now I only had Aerobic development sessions, where HR was fine as a goal - but the next ones will be short intervals (30/30) and I am sure that my HR will NOT drop from 150bpm to 90 bpm within 30 Seconds..
Question: When does Athletica transfer primary and secondary goal to Connect - and how can I force this??
Thanks to pointing me to this interesting Article, @Prof !
Probably I was not able to formulate my question properly:
I had a workout transferred from Athletica where not only a primary (Power) Target zone (78-98 Watts) was transferred but as a secondary target Zone also the heart rate (98-119BPM) was transferred to Connect.
The Edge 840 did display BOTH target zones in a data page.
But: All the other workouts I transferred had only information in the primary Target zone (in most Cases HR) transferred. I only wanted to know how to “Force” Athletica to transfer both primary and secondary target zone?
In the Connections → Configure settings I can only select “Prefer Power” - “Prefer HR” - Leth AI-Coach decide, but not: Transfer Primary and secondary targets.
Just for the record:
Yesterday was Intervals day - I used the transfer option “Prefer Power”.
In the training imported to connect there was a primary target available (power) AND a secondary target zone for HR.
This is not the case when using “Prefer HR” or “Let the ai coach decide” - in these cases the secondary target is empty on the Garmin Edge 840.
(which is a pity).
Hi @ddolezal … we’ve attempted to make some changes here. Please try again for us if and when you can. You may want to disconnect and then reconnect your Garmin Connect to ensure our changes take effect.
Hello @Prof,
I synced a Session with the “Prefer Power” setting → Power was in my Training on the Garmin as the primary Target zone, secondary Target zone (HR) was populated as well.
Today, synced a Recovery session with “Prefer HR” setting. HR was in my training on the garmin as the primary Target zone, secondary target zone (Power) was unfortunately empty.
I did a disconnect → reconnect son last wednesday directly after reading your post.
As soon as the heavy rain here in northern germany is over, I will do some tests.
I will focus on sending the sessions to GC with “Prefer HR” and check if the secondary Target zone is populated as well.
Not sure if related to the changes that were mentioned in this thread but, my running sessions from the past 3 days have been sent to my garmin using power…which I’m not comfortable with for running.
Before today’s session i actually did a resync to garmin and selected “prefer pace” but still i got power.
@Prof
When syncing Workouts to Connect:
“Prefer HR” includes power as secondary Target zone
“Prefer Power” includes HR as secondary Target zone
“Let AI Coach decide” when syncing an Aerobic development Session synced HR as primary target zone and Power as secondary target zone!
Thank you, @Prof and your team, it seems to work now!
